Simply put a gorge swing takes bungee jumping to the next level. The theory is simple enough. Your harness is attached to a rope. The rope is tied to the middle of another rope that is tied from one end of a gorge to the other. You close your eyes, think of all the good deeds you have done in your life and hope their rewards pay off then, jump. you free fall towards the earth and just when you think you are going to crash the rope tightens and swings you in an arch. All this over the massive Zambezi river.
Simple, yes? Think again. This jump is not for the faint hearted. However, everyone who tries it has just one word to describe it. Awesome! If you are a traditionalist, you can try the regular bungee jump, a mundane flying fox or a foofie slide. Which is a flying fox with a twist. You can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h on this one.
For those not fond of hurtling off cliffs there are other options available. Think light, micro-light. Yes, you can take a micro-light flight over the great Zambezi river and get a bird’s eye view of the Smoke that Thunders or as the world knows it, the Victoria Falls.
There is also the option of hiring a helicopter or a Cessna which will take not just over the falls but also to get an aerial view of the spectacular game on offer.
Rest assured, whichever way you chose to get you high, you’ll get it.
