Agatti Island, Lakshadweep

Agatti Island, Lakshadweep

A man stands alone on a white sandy beach and as far as his eyes can see there is nothing but the shimmering lapis lazuli of the Indian Ocean merging with the fiery reds of a setting sun on fire. This man or woman can be you. Step onto the Agatti Island in Lakshadweep group of islands.

This gem in the Indian Ocean is off the cost of Kochi. The island is less than 6km long and has a population of less than 10,000. If ever one was looking to find absolute privacy and solitude this would be it. It can be a romantic getaway, a honeymoon ecstasy or just a place to soak in the sun with your inner self for company.

The complete beauty of the island can be explored either on foot or on a cycle. As you meander through the tracks and trails you can interact with the locals, sit and have tea, get to know them. You will feel like one of the earliest explorers out on a quest to have discovered a new and untamed land.

Come discover a new land and lose yourself in its wonder.
