Tour
Description
Rome -
Rome is a city of vivid and unforgettable images: the view of
the city's silhouette from Janiculum Hill at dawn; the array
of broken marble columns and ruins of temples of the Roman
Forum; St. Peter's Dome against a pink-and-red sunset, capping
a gloriously decorated basilica.
Paris - The discovery of the City of
Light and the experience of making it your own is and always
has been the most compelling reason to visit. If you're a
first-timer, everything in Paris, of course, will be new to
you. If you've been away for a while, expect changes: Taxi
drivers may no longer correct your fractured French but
address you in English--and that's tantamount to a
revolution..
London - The British capital is
more eclectic and electric than it's been in years. Newsweek
hailed London as a "hip compromise between the nonstop newness
of Los Angeles and the aspic-preserved beauty of
Paris--sharpened to New York's edge." Wine Spectator proclaims
more modestly: "The sun is shining brighter in London these
days."...
Amsterdam - Live and let live, easygoing,
liberal, and tolerant are some of the labels most often
applied to Amsterdam--and with good reason. In the 1960s
Amsterdam became the hippie capital of Europe; in the 1990s
the city and Holland have taken leading roles in liberalizing
laws regarding homosexuality, even sanctioning gay marriages.
Similar attitudes help explain the existence of Amsterdam's
Red Light District, which is as much a city tourist attraction
as the Rijksmuseum or the Stedelijk Museum.......
Zurich - A throbbing world
metropolis with its quiet aspects
The variety of scenery in Zurich will catch you unawares.
At times, it will strike you as a rowdy, throbbing major city,
at others - especially in the Old Town - you will find the
narrow alleys peaceful and leisurely.
The Zurich Lake gives you a feeling of well-being. On the
shores of the Lake, you can sit and admire the Alps or stroll
through the parks and watch the yachts on the water. Many
public bathing facilities are open in Summer. If it is more
adventure you are after, just wait for nightfall. The Zurich
night-life is famous beyond the Swiss borders.
Lucerne - where festivals come to
life in a picture-book setting
Centrally located, Lucerne is easy to reach. Once you've
arrived, you may want to linger in the picturesque old town,
which is car-free and small enough to be explored on foot.
Don't forget to stop for a cup of coffee and marvel at the
famous covered bridge, the "Kapellbrücke," that spans the
Reuss river. And should there be water everywhere, why not
take refuge in one of the ten town museums - among them the
famous Swiss Transport Museum? Once the rain lets off, you may
feel inspired to board a steamboat that takes you to every
nook and cranny of Lake Lucerne or one of the nostalgic
mountain railways that lift you up high to one of the
surrounding pre-alpine summits........
Interlaken - The holiday and
congress center in the Bernese Oberland, holds a prominent
position among Europe's tourist resorts. Come and experience
an unforgettable holiday in an extraordinary region between
the lakes of Thun and Brienz, at the foot of the imposing
threesome, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau! The Interlaken resort
region includes the mountain villages of Beatenberg and
Habkern, as well as the quaint villages of Iseltwald, Bönigen
and Ringgenberg-Goldswil on Lake Brienz and Wilderswil at the
entrance to the mountain valleys..
Salzburg - The city of Salzburg is
synonymous with "The Sound of Music" and Mozart. It is also
known for its magnificent architecture, its beautiful churches
and palaces and its abundance of attractions.
Vienna - Vienna, once the historic capital
of the Habsburg Empire, is now an dynamic metropolis in the
heart of Europe. With its world-renowned opera, ancient
residence of the emperor and court of the Austro-Hungarian
monarchy, Vienna Boys' Choir, fantastic Viennese cuisine and
more, Vienna has something to offer everyone.
Florence - For those travelers looking for
exquisite art, Florence is a city which is not to be missed.
Here you can witness magnificent art treasures in almost every
public place including city squares, museums and churches.
